After reading the book ACRES OF DIAMONDS by Russell Conwell, I am convinced we are all leaving the diamond mines in our own backyards as we travel around the world looking for larger diamonds, when in fact the diamonds we seek are found within us and our hometown, from whence we came. Therefore, we are calling the podcast, #IAMRIVIERABEACH.
Today's Guest: AttorRichard Ryles
Energetic. Hopeful. Focused. Those are three words often used to describe Attorney Richard A. Ryles, who has won more than $200 million on behalf of his clients over his nearly 30 year career, acting as a fierce advocate for the disenfranchised, the abused, the mistreated. Smart, hard-working and tenacious are three other terms applied to Attorney Ryles but, perhaps, the most fitting of all? Fearless. That’s because from the time he was growing up in a single-parent household in West Palm Beach, Fla., Attorney Ryles has been unafraid to make it happen.
That career has seen him make history. Indeed, shortly after opening in 1996 his personal-injury, wrongful-death-focused law office, The Ryles Firm, Attorney Ryles, successfully negotiated a $2.35 million wrongful-death settlement against the Albertson’s Corporation. Attorney Ryles went on to win a $3.3 million wrongful death verdict against Rhode Island-based Picerne Development and, later, a $2.5 million punitive damage settlement against New York based GFI Inc. both cases were a result of the property owner failing to provide security.

Today's Guest: Shed Lang
Mr. Lang moved to Riviera Beach in 1986 and settled in Monroe Heights. Most of his best memories occurred while living in this city. He realized the potential early on and knew He wanted to open a business one day. He didn’t know what he wanted to do, but he knew that he wanted to be here.
He worked for AT&T for nearly 20 years, and during that time, He had an opportunity to travel and visit many cities across the country.  One in particular that fascinated him was Tulsa, Oklahoma. He heard about the 1921 riots that decimated a thriving black community but was hopeful after seeing what that community had done to turn things around. He visited a plaza where it was predominantly black-owned. The parking lot was packed, and the businesses were booming. He thought- “why not in Riviera Beach?”.  The demographics were very similar, but we lacked business opportunities. He plans to meet with local black-owned businesses to start the Build Back Black Wall Street Initiative
.After retiring in December 2021, He decided to be his own boss. He was done with the corporate world, saying it wasn’t for him. So he took his life savings and stepped out on faith, and became the proud owner of Boulevard Subs & More.

Today's Guests: Artie Williams and Dan Calloway
Mr. Dan W. Calloway has served as the Athletic Director of the Youth Recreation of Palm Beach County since its founding in 1965. His love of all sports began early in life and led him from the sandlots of Riviera Beach to the Pittsburgh Pirates farm camp. After returning to Palm Beach County, his love for sports helped him mold the lives of thousands of young people through mentoring and coaching for the past forty-eight years. Many of the young people that he mentored went on to become professional athletes. He always tried to impress upon the young people with whom he worked the importance of becoming responsible, contributing citizens who give back to their communities. He believes that if he can keep these young people involved in sports, and other activities that they will not turn to negative street influences.
Artie J. Williams has had many accomplishments in life, but none more important than being a part of M.A.M.A, Inc. founded in memory of his nephew Torrey Donnell Manuel. Artie knows firsthand about the violence that has claimed the lives of many of our young people, so he vows to fight to prevent another mother from suffering the loss of a child to senseless violence.
