Vivian McKnight is a former civil servant who retired from the federal government in 2012 with 32 years of service. She has worked as a Scientist, an Engineer, a Computer Programmer, and a Project Manager. Her last assignment in the Federal Government was as a Safety Manager for the Federal Aviation Administration working on the integration of Unmanned Aircraft/ drones in the National Airspace System.  She started her Federal career as a Physicist with the Navy.  Her formal education includes a bachelor’s degree in physics and a Master of Engineering Science degree with an emphasis in Computer Science.  She was born, raised, and educated in Baltimore City, Maryland completing her higher education at Morgan State University and Loyola University Maryland.  In 1997 she was invited by a friend to come to a meeting to form and ultimately join the 12 Karats Investment club where she became one of the founding members of the club. Her passion is encouraging women to invest and empowering women in the area of financial literacy and investing.  She is currently a founding member of the Maryland Model Investment Club which was formed in 2015 and has been a volunteer with the Maryland Chapter of BI for many years and serves today as a Maryland Chapter Director.

After reading the book ACRES OF DIAMONDS by Russell Conwell, I am convinced we are all leaving the diamond mines in our own back yards as we travel around the world looking for larger diamonds, when in fact the diamonds we seek are found within us and our hometown, from whence we came. Therefore, we are calling the podcast, #IAMRIVIERABEACH.  #RIVIERABEACHPRIDE

Today's guest: Alfred J Shipman
Born and raised in West Palm Beach, Fl, Alfred J. Shipman attended John F Kennedy High School and graduated class of 1966. Alfred attended Allen University in Columbia South Carolina and went on to serve 3 years in the United States Army. He earned an Associates' Degree in Business Administration from Palm Beach Junior College before deciding to devote 36 years to the United States Postal Service Co. Mr. Shipman was honored to be the coach for the Youth Recreational Association baseball and football little league team for 10 years in the late '80s. He was also the first African American to be selected to play for the VFW baseball league and had the opportunity to be Drafted by the LA Angels baseball team. Currently, Alfred J. Shipman serves as the chairman of the deacon board and has no plans on discontinuing his good service.

Brandon Rooks is 37 years old, and resides in North Carolina, by way of Washington DC. He is an experienced IT and Cybersecurity professional who enjoys helping people build cool things "in the cloud".
Brandon first learned how to invest from his father Brian and increased his focus when he himself became a dad. Along with his mentor (Warren Mickens), he founded "Better Investment Analysis" - an investment club that meets regularly to discuss building wealth in the stock market via long-term investing principles. The club has grown to include members from across the US, with a range of experience in various industries and disciplines.
Brandon also volunteers in his community to create STEM learning opportunities for the next generation. In his free time, he enjoys sports, music, chess, traveling, and most of all spending time with his beautiful wife Kaleia and son Brandon Jr.

Today's Guest: Ottis Jermone Anderson, GIANTS NFL RUNNING BACK
Ottis Jermone Anderson is a native of Palm Beach County and a retired NFL running back.
He attended Forest Hill High School, which is located in West Palm Beach, Florida. In 1979, he obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education. Later he was inducted into the University of Miami Sports Hall of Fame and the University of Miami Ring of Honor.
That season, he would cap the Giants 39-20 Super Bowl XXI victory over the Denver Broncos with a two-yard run for the team's final touchdown. At age 33 in 1990, OJ surpassed the 10,000-yard rushing mark making him a member of the NFL's elite 10,000 Yard Club. Also in that season, he was honored as the MVP of Super Bowl XXV.

Edward Walker played under Dan Calloway in little league baseball while he was a kid growing up in Riviera Beach. In Riviera Beach, Edward Walker attended elementary and junior high school.  Mr. Walker Edward attended Suncoast High School and then went on to play baseball at Palm Beach Junior College. He began playing baseball at LSU after graduating Jr College. He returned to Suncoast after college to assist coach Al Sutton, who was also his high school coach. Mr. Walker joined the Riviera Beach Fire Department after coaching and advanced through the ranks to Captain. He worked for 23 years before retiring and now enjoy's golf and fishing while also assisting seniors in his area.

Yohlaunda Battle graduated from Miami University of Ohio with a BS in Systems Analysis. She is an IT professional currently working as a business systems analyst and IT trainer at a dialysis company. She loves Jesus and serves as a women’s bible study facilitator at her church. She is a current member of Model Wheeler Investment Club (MaWDIC) and a past member of Living Room Learning Investment Club (LRL), both of which are part of Better Investing, and serves as a director with BI Northeast Ohio Chapter. She is married with no children. While she has always been pretty good at managing her money and savings, she became an investor in her 20s by investing in her company’s 401k plan as soon as she became eligible. After her first job change, she attended a financial workshop at a local church and signed up with a financial planner, Darrell Claytor whom she still works with today. In her early 40’s, she joined her first investment club and decided to take a more proactive approach by investing her savings in the stock market. Her goal is to retire early and securely. She would like to focus her time on ministry, travel, and pursuing her hobbies (skiing and biking) in retirement.
