After reading the book ACRES OF DIAMONDS by Russell Conwell, I am convinced we are all leaving the diamond mines in our own backyards as we travel around the world looking for larger diamonds, when in fact the diamonds we seek are found within us and our hometown, from whence we came. Therefore, we are calling the podcast, #IAMRIVIERABEACH.
Today's Guest: Edwin Ferguson
Edwin Ferguson is the Founder and President of The Ferguson Firm in Riviera Beach, FL. The firm opened in 2005, just months after Mr. Ferguson graduated from the Barry University School of Law. Over the course of his career, Mr. Ferguson has honed his advocacy skills by fighting for the rights of persons injured due to the acts of others and also by fighting to defend the rights of persons who have been accused of committing criminal acts.
Mr. Ferguson's passion for the law is partly due to his desire to help others injured as a result of the wrongful acts of others. Days before Thanksgiving in 2002, Mr. Ferguson's mother, Abby, died in an automobile accident that was caused by the reckless acts of another motorist. Mr. Ferguson has taken the pain of his mother's loss and turned it into a never-ending source of energy and focus to be utilized in addressing the needs of his clients and the community.
Furthermore, Mr. Ferguson gives back to the community through his service as Chairman of the Palm Beach County Planning Commission Board, and through the presentation of his “Know Your Rights—Navigating Police Encounters” seminar that he has held throughout Palm Beach County since 2012.

Today's Guest: Richard Ryles
Energetic. Hopeful. Focused. Those are three words often used to describe Attorney Richard A. Ryles, who has won more than $200 million on behalf of his clients over his nearly 30 year career, acting as a fierce advocate for the disenfranchised, the abused, the mistreated. Smart, hard-working and tenacious are three other terms applied to Attorney Ryles but, perhaps, the most fitting of all? Fearless. That’s because from the time he was growing up in a single-parent household in West Palm Beach, Attorney Ryles has been unafraid to make it happen. That career has seen him make history. Indeed, shortly after opening in 1996 his personal-injury, wrongful-death-focused law office, The Ryles Firm, Attorney Ryles, successfully negotiated a $2.35 million wrongful-death settlement against the Albertson’s Corporation. Attorney Ryles went on to win a $3.3 million wrongful death verdict against Rhode Island-based Picerne Development and, later, a $2.5 million punitive damage settlement against New York based GFI Inc. Other historically notable cases include his representation of Riviera Beach resident, Robie Mortin, a survivor of the 1923 Rosewood Massacre in her quest to obtain some of the 2.1 million dollars awarded by the State of Florida.

Today's Guests: Mr. Calloway and Mr. Williams
Mr. Dan W. Calloway has served as the Athletic Director of the Youth Recreation of Palm Beach County since its founding in 1965. His love of all sports began early in life and led him from the sandlots of Riviera Beach to the Pittsburgh Pirates farm camp. After returning to Palm Beach County, his love for sports helped him mold the lives of thousands of young people through mentoring and coaching for the past forty-eight years. Many of the young people that he mentored went on to become professional athletes. He always tried to impress upon the young people with whom he worked the importance of becoming responsible, contributing citizens who give back to their communities. He believes that if he can keep these young people involved in sports, and other activities that they will not turn to negative street influences.
Artie J. Williams has had many accomplishments in life, but none more important than being a part of M.A.M.A, Inc. founded in memory of his nephew Torrey Donnell Manuel. Artie knows firsthand about the violence that has claimed the lives of many of our young people, so he vows to fight to prevent another mother from suffering the loss of a child to senseless violence.
