Learn Why and How to Invest with Ellis Traub

#MyInvestingStory is created to share the stories of individual investors. Ann McNeill, a BetterInvesting Volunteer, talks with Ellis Traub about his investing story.  Ellis Traub was a certified loser, when it came to the stock market; and in the early 1970s, lost nearly everything he had because he made a number of serious mistakes in his investment experience.  After being scared out of the market for most of his productive years, he discovered Better Investing, NAIC, a volunteer organization devoted to teaching amateurs to invest successfully and, after having enjoyed the benefit of learning their methodology, he stayed on to volunteer to teach others. Eventually he was invited to chapters all over the country to lecture, he wrote a book about the methodology, now in its third edition and published in Japan as well. And he founded Investware, a software company that developed and produced several software products that implement that methodology, including the Investors Toolkit and Take Stock--both of which are still used by thousands of successful investors.  He sold his company in 2003 and is now retired and lives with his wife, Dianne, in Pembroke Pines, Florida.
