Learn Why and How to Invest with Deane and Vicky Jaeger
#MyInvestingStory is created to share the stories of individual investors. Ann McNeill, a BetterInvesting Volunteer, talks with Deane and Vicky Jaeger about their investing story. Vicky knew nothing about investing and thought the stock market was only for professionals. Deane on the other hand started investing as a young teenager and has been an active investor for over 50 years. He is on the Board of Directors of the BetterInvesting Volunteer Advisory Board, Chairman BetterInvesting’s National Convention and an investment club member for over 30 years. Vicky knew nothing about financial empowerment until she met Deane a few years ago. Acting as her mentor, Deane introduced Vicky to the world of investing, the concept of investment clubs and the BetterInvesting organization. First, let's start with who we are not, and what we don't do. We are not "day traders." We are not professional investment advisers, stock brokers, or bond traders. We don't deal in penny stocks. We don't teach buying on Margin (using borrowed money). We don't teach Technical Analysis or Charting. We don't teach Options trading. We don't get paid for what we do, and we don't earn commissions, referrals, or kickbacks. Our official name is the National Association of Investors Corporation (NAIC). We are a non-profit, volunteer driven, educational organization founded in 1951 by a small group of individual investors looking for a better way. Several years ago we adopted the trade name BetterInvesting (www.betterinvesting.org) abetterinvesting@gmail.com
